Samadhan Scheme – Announced by CM Stalin in Tamil Nadu

The scheme intends to help traders with settling their pending tax dues. The pending commercial dues in Tamilnadu is a whooping ₹ 25,000 Crores.

With a twin motive of easing the pressure on officials cum judicial machinery and collection of pending dues, Govt has introduced the Samadhan scheme which is effective from 16th October 2023 to 15th February 2024.

Rs.50,000 – Rs.10,00,000 (Including taxes, interest, and penalty)(i) Flat 20% of dues to be paid in 1 installment

(ii) For those who have accepted the tax assessment:
66% of dues + 10% interest + 10% Penalty

(iii) For those who have filed an appeal
33% of dues + 10% interest + 10% Penalty

(iv) For those with no tax dues – only interest and penalty
10% interest + 10% penalty
Rs.10,00,000 – Rs.1 Cr (Including taxes, interest, and penalty)(i) Accepted the tax assessment:
66% of dues + 10% interest + 10% Penalty

(ii) Filed an appeal
33% of dues + 10% interest + 10% Penalty

(iii) No tax dues – only interest and penalty
10% interest + 10% penalty
Rs.1 Cr – Rs.10 Cr(i) Accepted the tax assessment:
75% of dues + 20% interest + 15% Penalty

(ii) Filed an appeal
50% of dues + 20% interest + 15% Penalty

(iii) No tax dues – only interest and penalty
20% interest + 15% penalty
>Rs.10 Cr(i) Accepted the tax assessment:
90% of dues + 30% interest + 15% Penalty

(ii) Filed an appeal
60% of dues + 30% interest + 15% Penalty

(iii) No tax dues – only interest and penalty
30% interest + 15% penalty
Further, as a special concession, interest accrued by the traders till the date of payment of dues will be waived.
